Give your research skills a boost by attending a conference geared toward the professional genealogist.  Two that come to mind are the APG (Association of Professional Genealogists) Professional Management Conference, held 29 September through 1 October 2017 in Arlington, Virginia (Washington, D.C., essentially), and the future SLIG (Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy) Academy for Professionals in Salt Lake City, sponsored by the Utah Genealogical Association.

The SLIG Academy was newly announced and will begin 21 January 2019 the week following SLIG.  Note that it is not following the upcoming 2018 SLIG, but is the following year, so start saving and planning now.
