Coming to RootsTech this week? Be sure to stop by the ICAPGen℠ booth to pick up Accredited Genealogist® and ICAPGen ribbons for your name badge.
If you are not yet accredited but have questions about the accreditation process, this is a great opportunity to talk to professionals who have been through the process, meet some of our Commissioners, and look at sample reports.
You may be aware that the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy (SLIG) has expanded this year to include SLIG Academy for Professionals. From the UGA website we read:
“This new program will follow SLIG 2019, beginning on Monday, 21 January, and will focus on professional development topics not offered at SLIG or elsewhere in a week-long, in-depth format. It will open with a special event to commemorate the life and legacy of the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr., and end by Friday noon.”
There is still room available in three classes that might be of interest to you as an Accredited Genealogist® professional:
Course 2: Public Speaking from Concept to Delivery with Josh Taylor
Course 3: Building and Nurturing a Successful Genealogy Business with Jeanne Larzalere Bloom
Course 5: Developing and Managing an Effective Institute Course with Mark Lowe
If you have not yet registered for SLIG Academy, ICAPGenSM may have some sponsorship funds to apply to assist with registration costs. Please contact Dayna Jacobs at dayna.jacobs@icapgen.org for more information.
