Online Associate of Arts Degree and Certificate Programs for Genealogists

e-learning-300x300

If you have been looking for an online degree or certificate program in genealogy or family history studies, both Monterey Peninsula College in California and Salt Lake Community College in Utah have something that will very likely interest you.  But hurry!  Registration deadlines are this week (August 18-19).

MPC offers both an online Associate of Arts Degree and an online Certificate in Family Research Studies, and SLCC offers a Certificate in Genealogy Research and Writing.  These programs are offered entirely online.  While genealogy certificates are not considered credentials, they provide an excellent foundation for researchers who wish to pursue accreditation through ICAPGen.

The registration deadline for MPC is Thursday, August 18th, with the semester starting on the 19th.  SLCC registration goes through Friday, August 19th, with the semester starting on August 24th.  At SLCC, those who do not wish to take courses for transferable credit actually have some flexibility with start dates, but semester courses must be completed by December 15th.
