We recently found out that Debbe Hagner is celebrating 20 years as an Accredited Genealogist® professional, and we asked her to tell us a little bit about herself.  Here is what she shared with us:

I gave three lectures titled, “Is there anyone else in the family that is deaf or hard of hearing – have you done your genealogy?” to the following organizations: Hearing Loss Association of America in Salt Lake City, Say What Club in Savannah, GA, Deaf Women United in Miami, FL in sign language, and Association for Late-Deafened Adults (ALDA) in Orlando.

This picture was posted in the Hearing Loss Magazine on page 43. “The Family Search Room, staffed by volunteers and sponsored by Sprint Accessibility, was a wonderful place for attendeess to search their family history.  Attendees found a lot of exciting information about their families.  For example, one attendee learned that she is related to Pocahontas, and another discovered that she is related to President Eisenhower.”  We had over 200 people pass thru the exhibit.  Pat Richley-Erickson was there to assist.  She learned a lot about hearing loss.

I am excited about coming to Salt Lake City in Jun 2018 to Deaf Family History Workshop to teach several classes in sign language.

I hope by 2019 I will be speaking at NGS, FGS and Rootstech.
