Are you a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG)?
If so, you’ll want to be sure to open up the July APG eNews that arrived in your email inbox. It features an interview with Diana Elder, AG®, on the benefits of accreditation, and promotes the presentation Diana, along with Julie Stoddard, AG, will give at the October APG Professional Management Conference. Their presentation, “Accreditation: A Pathway to Becoming a Better Researcher” should give our organization some great representation. The APG PMC will take place October 4-6 in Kansas City, Missouri.
If you are not already a member of APG, you might consider the benefits of joining. Their directory is widely used by individuals looking to hire researchers, their publications are excellent resources for professional researchers, and members are respected by the genealogy community. The annual Professional Management Conference features sessions specifically geared to the professional genealogist. APG is also a great way to network with other professionals.
