ICAPGen™ Professional Spotlight

We are pleased to introduce you to Liz Snow, AG®, who recently received her accreditation in the Spain region. Congratulations, Liz!

Please share why you believe in ICAPGen and our mission:

ICAPGen is an organization that was created by genealogists who care about raising all genealogists and the genealogy industry to a higher level in our research and education.

How has ICAPGen been a good fit for you?

It helped me prove my knowledge of my area of expertise so others can have confidence in my abilities.

Are there personal details you’d like to share about yourself?

I like to read, sew, crochet and be outdoors.

Please share a little about your experience in genealogy:

I teach family history at BYU Provo and love helping the students find a connection with their ancestors. I am also working on a reconstruction project of a Spanish village, working to put together family units.

What motivated you to pursue accreditation?

I needed the accreditation for employment at BYU.

What are some challenging or unique aspects of researching in your area of accreditation?

Hispanic research has many records with parents and grandparents. This helps you feel confident in your ancestral connections.

What advice do you have for those pursuing accreditation?

Join an ICAPGen Study Group and don’t be afraid. There are many friendly people to help you succeed each step of the way.

What research projects are you involved with now or have planned for the future?

I am constantly working with cousins to grow our family tree in Spain.

What are some of your goals as a genealogist?

One of my goals is to help others find a connection to their family and have confidence to continue working on their own.
